Give attendees a place to sign up before the photos are ready. Pixieset’s pre-release collections let you build interest in the gallery while you’re still photographing the event.
Before release, visitors see a signup page rather than the photos. Snapizzi handles subject matching, photo organization, and export, while Pixieset handles gallery signups and delivery through a file-based workflow.
According to Pixieset’s announcement, you can share a collection link or QR code before delivery. Photos remain hidden while the collection is in Pre-release status, even after you’ve uploaded them.
The signup also includes an opt-in to receive news and promotional emails.

Instead of asking attendees to look for a future social post, you can point them to the place where the finished gallery will live.
Snapizzi handles photo organization behind the scenes. Use a Data Project when you have a roster, or an Event Project when you don’t. With either project type, photograph the appropriate Camera Card before each person’s portraits so Snapizzi can organize the images for export.
Pixieset’s pre-release QR code serves a different purpose. Attendees scan it to sign up for a photo-ready notification and opt in to marketing emails. It builds interest in the gallery; it doesn’t identify subjects or match visitors to their photos.

Here’s how to combine Snapizzi’s photo organization with a Pixieset pre-release collection for event portraits.
Create the Pre-Release Collection
Before the event, create a Pixieset collection and set its status to Pre-release. Save the collection link for later.Share the Signup Link
Preview the signup experience, then share the link or QR code on your event materials so attendees can sign up to be notified when the photos are ready.Photograph the Portraits
Photograph the appropriate Snapizzi Camera Card before each person’s portraits. You can use a Data Project with a roster or an Event Project without a CSV file.Process and Export
Process the images in Snapizzi and use Bundles to export them into folders for upload.Upload the Photos to Pixieset
Upload the photos to the same Pixieset collection that collected the signups, rather than creating a new collection.Check the Gallery Before Publishing
Review image selection, ordering, cover, downloads, store options, and privacy settings.
Pixieset’s pre-release setup documentation describes Publish & Notify as the start of an email workflow. After you choose it and publish, Pixieset takes you to a draft email campaign. Publication does not automatically send the notification.
Review the recipients, customize the message, and verify that the link opens the intended collection. Send the campaign only after those checks. You can review signups through Activities and Marketing Contacts in the collection.
Sending Email Campaigns requires an upgraded Client Gallery or Suite plan and is subject to monthly email allowances. Check your current plan and available allowance before planning the send.

Publishing the collection alone is not the same as sending the announcement.
Snapizzi Bundles can organize exported photos into subject folders. Pixieset’s Bulk Create feature uses those folders to create new collections, rather than adding photos to an existing pre-release collection.
For this event workflow, open the original pre-release collection and upload the photos there, keeping the gallery and its signups together. If your job needs separate collections for each subject, our Pixieset workflow guide explains the folder-upload process.
Pixieset’s pre-release signup includes a marketing opt-in; roster email addresses don’t provide that consent on their own. Signup also doesn’t control gallery access. Use the collection’s privacy settings for the intended audience, whether it’s a shared event gallery or individual subject galleries.
A roster email address is not the same as a marketing opt-in.
Pixieset gives attendees a place to sign up before the photos are ready, while Snapizzi organizes the images for delivery. Upload the exported files to that same collection, publish it, then review and send the announcement. It’s a straightforward path from interest at the event to the finished gallery.
