The basic idea behind Snapizzi is simple: identify a subject, photograph that subject, and let the software handle the repetitive work of connecting the two.
Instead of manually sorting thousands of photographs after Picture Day, Snapizzi uses identification codes photographed alongside your subjects to determine which images belong to which people.
As images are uploaded, Snapizzi reads those identification images and uses their position in the photo sequence to organize the photographs that follow.
The result is a workflow where the connection between a person and their photographs is established while you're shooting—not reconstructed manually afterward.
For photographers working with subject data, that identification can also connect photographs to names, groups, passwords, gallery information, and other data imported before Picture Day.
Snapizzi connects the people, photographs, and project data so customers can get to the right images without searching through unrelated galleries.
The demo begins by explaining Snapizzi's two primary project types: Event Projects and Data Projects.
Event Projects are designed for situations where you don't need a roster before you begin photographing.
You photograph a Snapizzi Camera Card followed by the subject's photographs. The card identifies the photo sequence, and it can then be given to the customer so they have what they need to locate their images later.
When the next Camera Card is photographed, Snapizzi knows a new subject's photo sequence has begun.
This makes Event Projects useful for workflows such as walk-in events, headshots, and other situations where subject information may not be available in advance.
Data Projects add subject information to the workflow.
A CSV roster can contain information such as a subject's name, class, team, group, gallery name, password, or other data needed for the project.
Snapizzi connects that information with the subject's Camera Card and photographs.
This is especially useful for school, sports, dance, and other high-volume photography workflows where subjects may belong to one or more groups.
A dancer, for example, might have individual portraits as well as photographs from ballet, jazz, tap, and company groups. Snapizzi can associate those different images and groups with the same subject instead of forcing the customer to search through several unrelated galleries.
Camera Cards provide the identification layer that connects subjects with their photographs.
Snapizzi gives photographers several ways to use them depending on the workflow.
Traditional Camera Cards can be printed for Picture Day. Individual JPEG cards or identification codes can also be downloaded when a studio needs to incorporate them into a custom design.
For photographers who want to eliminate printing altogether, Snapizzi Paperless Camera Cards provide a digital workflow that can be used in the field.
The goal is the same regardless of the format: create a reliable connection between the subject, the identification code, and the photographs captured after it.
Once the photographs are uploaded, Snapizzi processes the image sequence and organizes the photographs according to the Camera Cards it detects.
A Camera Card—or multiple cards photographed together—acts as a keyframe.
The photographs following that keyframe belong to the identified subject or subjects until Snapizzi encounters another identification code.
That makes some workflows that would otherwise require substantial manual organization remarkably simple.
For example, if two friends want individual portraits and photographs together, both Camera Cards can be photographed before their shared photographs. Snapizzi can then associate those images with both subjects.
The same principle can be used with groups in Data Projects to connect individual and group photographs with the appropriate people automatically.
Multi-group photography is one of the places where automated subject matching becomes particularly valuable.
Schools, dance studios, sports organizations, and other volume photography jobs don't always have a simple one-person-to-one-group structure.
A subject may belong to several teams or classes. They may have multiple individual portrait sequences. They may appear in several group photographs.
Snapizzi uses the project data and photographed identification codes to maintain those relationships.
Instead of manually recreating those connections after the shoot, photographers can see the subject's individual images and associated group photographs organized within the project.
For the customer, that means a much simpler path to finding all of the photographs associated with them.
Organizing photographs is only part of the workflow. Customers still need an easy way to get to them.
Snapizzi's Studio Search Page gives studios a customizable place where customers can search for their photographs.
Studios can customize the page with their branding and choose which projects appear publicly.
Customers can search using information associated with the project, and Snapizzi directs them to the appropriate photographs.
Studios aren't limited to requiring customers to search, either.
Snapizzi can generate a Subject List containing project information and direct gallery URLs. Those URLs can be merged into email or other communication systems so customers can receive a direct link to their photographs.
That gives studios flexibility in how they deliver the customer experience while Snapizzi handles the underlying organization.
Different photography jobs require different approaches to gallery access, so Snapizzi includes privacy controls at the project level.
Studios can restrict customers to their own subject galleries rather than allowing them to browse other galleries.
Password-protected galleries can also be used. If passwords are required but aren't included in the uploaded CSV data, Snapizzi can automatically generate passwords for the subjects.
Studios can also control whether a project appears on the Studio Search Page and whether Camera Card images should be hidden from customer galleries.
These settings make it possible to adapt Snapizzi to the privacy and delivery requirements of different types of high-volume photography.
Anyone who has photographed enough volume jobs knows that mistakes happen.
A Camera Card gets skipped.
A code is partially covered by a finger.
An identification image is out of focus.
A photographer shoots a sequence in the wrong order.
An image gets duplicated.

Photographers can configure how files are renamed, resized, selected, and organized into folders before export.
That makes Bundles useful for labs, yearbooks, schools, organizations, and workflows involving platforms that don't connect directly to Snapizzi.
Snapizzi can also generate individual and group proof sheets using studio-designed templates.
Studios can include subject information, gallery links, QR codes, and selected photographs, providing a bridge between an automated digital workflow and customers or organizations that still require paper proofs.
Snapizzi is designed as the workflow layer between Picture Day and delivery—not as a replacement for every other tool in your business.
The video demo uses a connected gallery platform to illustrate how that process works, but the underlying Snapizzi workflow extends beyond a single platform.
With supported integrations, Snapizzi can automate the movement and organization of photographs into remote galleries.
Studios using other platforms can use Bundles to organize images and data for export and then continue their workflow in the platform of their choice.
That means improving your high-volume workflow doesn't necessarily mean replacing the gallery or selling platform you've already built your business around.
