When Auto Update is enabled for a supported remote port, Snapizzi continues synchronizing changes between your Snapizzi project and the connected gallery, helping keep the remote project current without requiring a manual update every time something changes.
For high-volume photographers managing hundreds or thousands of subject galleries, that can remove a significant amount of repetitive work.
A Port connects an organized Snapizzi project with an output or destination.
For supported gallery integrations, a remote port allows Snapizzi to create and maintain the gallery structure needed to deliver images through the connected platform.
That means the organizational work happening inside Snapizzi—subject matching, gallery organization, group associations, and image management—can continue into the delivery stage of the workflow.
Instead of manually rebuilding that organization after images leave Snapizzi, the Port carries the organized project forward.
Auto Update takes that workflow another step by helping maintain the remote project after it has been created.
Your Snapizzi project can keep evolving without turning every change into another manual publishing step.
Once a supported remote project has been created and Auto Update is enabled, Snapizzi can continue processing changes as you work.
For example, you might:
Upload additional photographs
Correct a misplaced image
Add images to an existing subject
Make changes to a project after the initial upload
Resolve an issue using Snapizzi's photo-management or repair tools
Rather than requiring you to manually update the remote project after every change, Auto Update helps keep the connected gallery synchronized in the background.
Updates are not necessarily instantaneous. Processing time can vary depending on the project, the remote service, and current activity. But you no longer have to treat every change as a separate publishing task.
For large or actively changing projects, that distinction matters.
A few manual updates may not seem significant on a small portrait job.
High-volume photography operates at a different scale.
A school, sports league, dance studio, graduation, or large event project may contain hundreds or thousands of individual galleries and many thousands of photographs.
Small repetitive tasks multiply quickly at that volume.
If every correction or new upload requires someone to remember to update the corresponding remote project, the workflow becomes dependent on another manual step.
Auto Update reduces that dependency.
The goal isn't simply to save a click. It's to make synchronization part of the workflow itself.
That allows photographers and production teams to spend more time managing the photography project and less time repeatedly telling two systems to catch up with one another.
Auto Update isn't the only way to update a remote project in Snapizzi.
Photographers can also use Manual Update when they want greater control over when a remote project is synchronized.
The two options serve different purposes.
Auto Update is generally the best choice when you want Snapizzi to maintain ongoing synchronization as the project changes.
It is particularly useful for active projects where images are still being uploaded or adjustments are being made.
Once enabled, it reduces the need to continually return to Ports and initiate another update.
Manual Update gives you more direct control over when synchronization occurs.
It performs a more thorough synchronization process, similar to resetting the remote project, and may take longer to complete.
This can be useful when you intentionally want to control when changes are pushed to the remote gallery or when a more comprehensive synchronization is appropriate.
Neither method eliminates the other.
The choice depends on how you prefer to manage a particular project.
For most projects, Auto Update is the recommended approach for maintaining ongoing synchronization. Manual Update remains available when you need it.

Auto Update is part of a larger shift in how high-volume photography workflows can operate.
Traditional workflows often consist of isolated steps:
Photograph the job.
Organize the files.
Upload the galleries.

Each stage creates another opportunity for repetitive work.
Snapizzi is designed around a more connected workflow.
Subject data, identification, image matching, gallery organization, photo management, repair tools, and delivery can work together as parts of the same project.
Auto Update extends that approach into remote galleries.
Instead of thinking of publishing as the end of the workflow, the remote gallery can remain connected to the project while work continues.
Automation is most useful when it eliminates repetitive work without taking away the photographer's ability to intervene.
That's why Snapizzi provides both Auto Update and Manual Update.
You can let Snapizzi maintain synchronization during the normal course of a project and still choose a manual update when the situation calls for one.
For photographers handling high-volume jobs, that balance can make the workflow both faster and easier to manage.
The objective is simple:
Organize the project once, make changes where they belong, and reduce the amount of repetitive work required to keep everything else current.

Today, photographers can choose between Auto Update for ongoing synchronization and Manual Update when a more thorough, controlled synchronization is preferred. Both options remain available depending on the project and workflow.
